Many of the works in this show are portraits that speak of love, fear, devotion, loss and hope. Artists often find themselves in a place outside the story that is being served up in the media and culture as reality. This artist likes to imagine a different place for those who live in this land and are empty handed because the promised good life did not cross their doorstep. What does that place look like? We are an army of people who share a land. The land belongs to none of us but to the Creator. We belong to each other and are joined socially, spiritually, and politically by the land we share. Empty handed, we give and receive.
